UPBEAT 2026
|
| Celebrating East Cobb's School Volunteer Leaders NCBA hosted a packed house for UPBEAT 2026, its annual luncheon honoring the incredible volunteer leaders who make East Cobb schools thrive. More than 100 PTA, Foundation, and Booster Club leaders and principals representing 26 local elementary, middle, and high schools attended. The event featured a musical prelude by Lassiter HS musicians and the National Anthem sung by Sprayberry HS students. Distinguished guests included Cobb County Commissioner JoAnn Birrell, State Rep. Sharon Cooper, School Board Members David Chastain and John Cristadoro, and Cobb Schools Chief of Staff Matt Moody. NCBA Board Member Amanda Holloway of Marlow's Tavern chaired the event. Fifteen generous business sponsors provided financial support, goodies, and giveaways. Piedmont Church Associate Pastor Marlon Longacre shared practical tips on effectively recruiting and retaining sponsors. Attendees also heard remarks from Kell graduate Cassandra Shippee and Pope High School math teacher Alissa Kitchens. NCBA is grateful to all the volunteers, administrators, public servants, and business partners whose dedication keeps our schools a benchmark of community excellence.
